  1. The natural appearance of the waterway is very attractive, I think, with the rocks and vegetation.
    I didn't expect so much concrete paving.
    All-weather paths free of puddles and weeds and suitable for walking, running, and bicycling will really be great, especially if there is some interesting elevation changes to make the journey more challenging and interesting. I imagine that using the earth removed from the containment basin(s) could be put to good use for that purpose.
    Could ground granite or volcanic cinder be durable enough for this purpose instead of the more formal-feeling concrete?
    My preference is a more natural environment.
